Fishing Tips

Tips, Resources & Regulations

PROPER ATTIRE AND THINKING AHEAD:

What You Should Bring:

  • Sunglasses
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • Camera
  • Cooler for your food & beverage (no glass please)
  • Another Cooler to take your catch home (leave it in the car)
  • Good sense of humor

**Your cooler will also come in handy to help carry home your fish.

**We provide all the fishing equipment and bait.  SouthStar’s Crew will clean and package your catch so all you have to do is throw it on the grill (ask the Crew about great ways to cook your catch!).

**Fishing Licenses are included at no additional charge with all of SouthStar’s Charters.

Proper Foot Attire:
Please make sure you wear non skid footwear designed for wet conditions, or boating shoes. Flip Flops are not considered boating shoes and are not good to wear on a boat. (Wear them at your own risk!). Please wear non-marking shoes such as sneakers with white bottoms or boat shoes. No boots or black-soled shoes are permitted.

Always wear these shoes while on the boat and dock area. Never go bare footed. Our boats do have the anti-skid on the floors, but the floor is always wet or damp. The dock area is always wet.

If you fall, and you are not wearing the proper footwear, there will not be any insurance coverage.

Seasickness:
We advise our customers who are unsure about seasickness to take a seasick pill the night before the charter and another one hour before the charter.

Be sure to read the labels. Certain pills have warnings and not all people should take them. They usually work. However, in case of seasickness, the customer has the option to cancel the trip and pay a rate of $200.00 per hour from the time the boat leaves and gets back to the dock. As with any drug, always check with your Doctor first! See these links: http://www.bonine.com/ and http://dramamine.com/
